Meet Dr Iyandra

Hello, I’m Iyandra,
I am not a waify girl. I am five feet eleven in my flat feet, six feet three in my stilettos. No matter how badly I may want to enter a room unseen some times (you know those times, when you want to glide in and sneak in because you don’t feel like talking to anybody :)), it never happens to me: when I enter the room, you see me and know I’m there!
I’m a woman of God and a believer of the Christian faith.
I’m the World Greatest Mom to the World’s Greatest Daughter. Much of who I am and/or aspire to be stems from the example I wish to set for my little being.
I’m a bibliophile! I love books, and when you see me, I will either have a book in my lap, a book near my side, or a book in my bag. Books have been the #1 developmental resource for me and provide a joyful safe space that I can found myself lost within. I read about 52 books a year and my goal in 2021 is to continue this trend by reading a book or two each week.
I’m a traveler, I love traveling the world, learning new cultures, seeing new things. I have been to more than 35 countries to date and my goal is to visit every continent and at least 70 countries in my lifetime. Next up: Malaysia!
I’m an unapologetically ambitious young leader, I love my job and absolutely love helping people and building teams. I love solving problems and effecting the vision of my leaders. I like to say my CEO is the visionary and I am the executor or integrator of his and the Management’s Team vision.
I am also an Adjunct Professor, and teach a myriad of courses at the University Level. I have been teaching university students since I was 24 year old, starting at the law school level. Imagine the look on my students’ face when I walked in to teach them Private International Law and most were older than me!
If you know me, you know I love tests, assessments, and horoscopes signs, and all that good stuff, because I really think it sheds a light into how best to maximize communication and connection with a person, so let me tell you where I fall:
HOROSCOPE SIGN: I’m a Cancer, which makes me a super-sensitive, hard-loving, generous, homebody! I am slow to connect, but when I connect, or let’s just say, when I love, I love super hard.
INTROVERT/EXTROVERT TEST: What surprises many people is that I am introverted, and when I took the Quiet Revolution personality test, it rang loud and clear. I find myself totally drained and sapped of energy after a night out socializing with friends (although I do it well :)) I would much and always prefer being at home crawled in bed wearing some VS silk pajamas with candles lit and a glass of wine nearby. I enjoy public speaking and teaching and being in front of the podium speaking to a crowd of 5,000 people, it’s when the presentation is over and people come up to the podium to speak to me that does it for me! I much prefer building connections on a one to one basis, and I am an effective networker because I focus on maximizing those one-to-one connections rather than working the room.
MYERS-BRIGGS TYPE INDICATOR: I am one of the less than 3% percent of people that is an INFJ (the rarest Myers-Briggs Type) – Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, Judging.
My LOVE LANGUAGE: is Physical Touch and COVID just wrecked that! My daughter tells me constantly, “Mom I know your love language is physical touch, but no kissing and cuddling today please.” I am a hugger, a touchy-feely person and have to restrain myself in certain environments from my ease of wanting to greet this way!
STRENGTHS ASSESSMENT: Philomath, Storyteller, Commander, Deliverer, and Believer
